Lisa Cole is the Naked Website Designer. She is a 40 something graphic artist based in Bristol and the brains and brawn behind www.lactivist.co.uk and www.jamsponge.co.uk.
Lisa trained in fashion design at the University of West of England and gained a credible 2.1. Since then she had dabbled in the 9-5 thing, found it distaseful and vowed never to work for anyone but herself ever again.
She counterpoints the hermits life of a designer with working at the farmers market once a week so she can get her fix of people. Currently she a fish wife but she may go back to the veg later in the year.
Please note that there is no guarantee that Lisa will be naked if you employ her to make you a website though it has been known to happen. Generally, and mostly because her home is a wind tunnel, she is fully clothed.
Process
After you email me with your basic idea I will mail you back with a list of pages and content I think you need and an idea of the cost involved. If you like what you hear I will ask you to go and think about what colours you want it to be in, what image you want to portray and what text you want. When you have collected all that I will rough out a page for you to look at and if you like it we can go from there, if you don't like it there is no obligation to continue.
The clearer your idea is in your head, the quicker it is for me to turn it into website reality and it costs you less because I don't have to faff around so much and we don't have to do so much going backwards and forwards with ideas.
Prices
Basic website design can cost as little as £250 for a website with half a dozen pages and an online shop. It is possible to get a one page website designed for £50 if you have a logo, any images you want, the text you want and a very clear and realistic idea of the colours and layout. I charge by the hour so the more changes and alterations you make, the more it costs. The websites shown on nakedwebsite range from £50 for one page sites to £800 for the more complicated ones.
You will also need to budget another £7 every 2 years for buying a domain name (the website address) and £15 a year for hosting (where it lives on the in-turnip).
Flyer and logo design costs £25 an hour. For the same rate I will happily set out adverts for you, design letterheads and business cards and I have even been known to bake the odd cake and throw in a slice with tea for free.
